Mary Lena “Peggy” Moon, 85, of Crumpton and formerly of Oakland died on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at home with her family.

Born on October 16, 1930 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Howard R. Biggs and Cicely (Burgess) Kimmell. She had lived in Baltimore and worked in drafting for Maryland Glass for many years before retiring to Florida.

She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Church of the Brethren, Trinity Lutheran Church in Chestertown, MD where she had been a member of their Ladies Guild.

Peggy had also served as treasurer for her local AARP chapter, was secretary of the Chester River Advocates of the Blind and volunteered at the Kent Center.

She is survived by a son, Clark Moon Jr. of Crumpton; two daughters, Nellie Houston of Ocean City and Esther Robison of Clarksville, PA; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Clark Moon; a daughter, Dorothy Fazenbaker; and a brother, Russell Biggs.

A graveside service will be held in the Fairview Cemetery, Oakland on Tuesday, October 27th at 11:30 AM with Pastor Keith officiating.
