Actor, Singer, Comedian. Born Owen Patrick Eugene McNulty in New York City, from the 1940s through the 1970s, he was a popular figure in feature films and on television. He began his career as a singer-comedian on NBC Radio in the 1930s and recorded "I Never Knew Heaven Could Speak," which he distributed out to various radio producers himself. In 1939, he joined the staff of the popular radio show "The Jack Benny Show" and appeared in the Benny film "Buck Benny Rides Again" (1940). His other film credits include "Music in Manhattan" (1944), "Melody Time" (1948), "Golden Girl" (1951) and "The Girl Next Door" (1953). In addition to having his own TV program "The Dennis Day Show," he also appeared on the "The Jack Benny Program," "The Bing Crosby Show," "Burke's Law," "The Lucy Show," and "Love American Style." He died in Brentwood, California, at age 72.
