Rev. Milfred Ely, age 96, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at his home.

He was born in St. Charles, Virginia to the late Thomas & Josephine Ely.

He was a United States Veteran serving in both the Army and Navy. He was a retired Baptist Minister after more than 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable C. Ely.

Survivors include his daughter, Ronda Gail (Captain Jim) Rector of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Steven (Trenda) Rector and Heather Rector of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Miquela (Keith) Hales, Briana (Joel) Brimer, Amanda Thomas, Jessica Jones, and Grant (Lindsey) Kelly; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with George Smith officiating.

There will be no visitation prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
