It is our sorrowful duty to announce the death of Pierre Soule, which occurred at half past 1 o'clock Saturday morning. The deceased, who was only 19 years of age , was the son of Mr. Nelvill Soule and Angele de Sentmanant, and grandson of the late Hon. Pierre Soule whose name is so familiar to our people, and whose memory is honored in our State. Young Soule who was in the prime of manhood when mowed down by the unrelenting scythe of death, was a native of this city. He had been reared with the greatest care and a brilliant future was before him. He had inherited all the noble qualities of his grandfather and his remarkable quickness and intelligence. His was a nature warm and pure which attracted on every hand. He was brave, generous, modest in demeanor, and of that kindness of disposition which made for him many friends. Surrounded as he was by the warm care of his mother and sisters , who had thrown around him that tender affection which makes life sweet, the brightest plans had been formed for him. With his demise the name of Soule, historic in Louisiana, which belonged to a family whose head was among the celebrities of the country, is extinguished. But it will ever be remembered and honored in our country.
To his parents and sisters, his uncles, Dr's. Armand and Alfred Mercier, and his many relatives and friends are tendered the deepest sympathies in their bereavement.

PIERRE SOULE
The name of a young man whose death is recorded in our issue to-day became historical before it was borne by him. Few men were possessed of more extrodinary mental powers than Pierre Soule, the grandfather of him who has departed hence. In oratory, diplomacy and statesmanship he had few peers. His experiences while Minister to Spain and those of his gallant son, Neville Soule, are prominent among the romances of our diplomatic annals. Having seen nothing of Neville Soule for some years past we supposed him dead and recently spoke of him as "the late Neville Soule." He still lives, however and the afflictions which now confines him to his residence are now increased by the loss of his only son, a promising young man only 19 years of age. To his surviving relatives we extend our condolence, especially to the sorrowing mother who was the daughter of Gen. Sentmanat, a fact recently referred to in our sketch of the Zavalas.
