Former Employe Of Quaker State Dies
Leroy Kurtz, 90, of 404 East Third Street, died at 12:30 a.m. today. A son of the late John and Sarah Hare Kurtz, he was born July 16, 1861, in Salem, Clarion County. On August 22, 1883, he was married to the former Laura Berlin of Knox. She preceded him in death seven years ago. In 1902, he moved to Clarion where he was employed in the hardware store of John McGee and Son. Later he returned to Oil City and became associated with the Quaker State Oil Refining Corporation until his retirement 12 years ago. Surviving are three children, Mrs. A. C. (Beulah) Fleming, Fred Kurtz and Mrs. Errol (Sarah) Collins of Oil City; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Sheffee Funeral Home.
