Major League Baseball Player. For five seasons (2009 to 2013), he was a pitcher with the Atlanta Braves and Anaheim Angels. He was selected by the Braves during the 22nd round of the 2005 Amateur Draft, he attended Riverside Community College in California, prior to making his Major League debut with Atlanta on June 7, 2009. He remained within the Braves' starting rotation during that season and recorded 11 wins with an impressive 2.89 ERA and the following year (2010), he experienced postseason action in the National League Division Series. In 2012, he produced a career-high 13 wins however his ERA soared above 4.00. He was acquired by Anaheim in late 2012, but failed to recapture his earlier success due to injuries which hampered him. In 123 regular season games, he compiled a 49 win, 35 loss record, with a lifetime 3.80 ERA in 708 innings pitched. Hanson continued to pitch in the Minor Leagues months prior to his death from multiple organ failure.
