Joe Watkins leave to cherish his memories his wife of 39 years, six children, one sister, seven nieces, one nephew and many friends and family. He was a very devoted husband and father and a man of great faith. One of his greatest pleasure was reading the Bible, and enjoyed telling the stories. He lived his life for the things he believed in, and for those who knew him best respected and admired him. His belief in God was never-changing. He loved going to church, and hunting was a hobby he enjoyed. His retirement years was spent with his family until his death in early March of 1974.
