Lorraine M. Bernier, age 93, of 12327 Hwy T, Maribel, entered her Heavenly home Friday, November 13, 2015 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center of Manitowoc.
The former Lorraine M. Taicher was born on August 27, 1922 in Maribel, daughter of the late Otto and Lucy (Budweiser) Taicher. She attended the Green Street School in the town of Cooperstown. On June 3, 1942, Loraine was married to Charles W. Bernier at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2003. Lorraine valued family and home and was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. She taught principles of work and integrity as she raised and nurtured her family. Her love of flower gardening and sewing was evident as she brought beauty to life with her gifts.
Survivors include one son: Gregory Bernier, Tucson, AZ; one daughter-in-law: Kathy Bernier, Larrabee; three daughters and one son-in-law: Karen M. Bernier, Butte, MT; Noreen A. Umentum, Green Bay; Annette A. (Kenneth C.) Barentine, Kearns, UT; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; one sister: Eunice Friedenberger, Two Rivers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Otto and Lucy Taicher; her husband: Charles W. "Chuck" Bernier; one son: Charles "Bud" Bernier Jr.; one daughter-in-law: Carla Bernier; one granddaughter: Brandy Bernier; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Raymond Taicher; Robert (Libby) Taicher; Leonard (Maxine) Taicher; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Evelyn (Victor) Charney; Harold Friedenberger.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. The Rev. Maurice Mmegbuadimma will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial of her cremated remains to follow at St. Wencelaus Cemetery at Green Street in the town of Cooperstown.
