Aumann, Vickie L.

Vickie L. Aumann, age 65, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Monday evening, November 16, 2015, at Rivers Bend nursing home of congestive heart failure.

Born on August 14, 1950 in Manitowoc, WI, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Shirley Aumann. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, class of 1968. She spent her lifetime working in banking and accounting, but her greatest passion was for books. An avid reader, she enjoyed the bookclub she was part of for many years and she loved to go "booking" at Half Price Books. She took pleasure in sharing her love of reading with others.

Survivors include her daughter, Dawn Aumann, her son-in-law, Eric Weyenberg, and her two grandchildren, Kendra and Adriana Aumann-Weyenberg of Fort Leavenworth, KS. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Geri Aumann of Manitowoc, WI, her sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Dean Delsman of Suamico, WI, and her brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Karen Aumann of Fort Meyers, FL, as well as three nieces, Shannon (Eric) Thiry, Tara (Reuben) Kaye, and Stacey (Brandon) McMurdie.

According to her wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date for close family and friends at which time she will be buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.

Thank you to her brothers and sister for having one last memorable family reunion with her. It really meant a lot to her.

Thank you to Ellen, her friend of 20+ years, and all the wonderful ladies at the bookclub who celebrated her 65th birthday with her and helped out in so many ways.

Thank you to Dianne, her downstairs neighbor and friend, who was her guardian angel.

Thank you to all the people at Starbucks who have gone out of their way and perfected the "Vickie special."

Thank you to Unity hospice which enabled her to keep living at home as long as possible and to all the kind nurses at Rivers Bend who have taken such great care of her.

She was a feisty, independent woman, a loyal friend, a fun-loving grandma, and a loving and caring mom. She will be sadly missed and remembered by all who knew her.
