Fred Barrett passed away 14 Nov 2015 in Ridgecrest Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Fred was born to Charles and Barbara Barrett on 26 Nov 1924 in Beaumont, CA.
Fred grew up in Beaumont. He served in the Navy during World War II. He came to Trona, CA in 1946 and worked as a heavy equipment, printing press, and switch engine operator until he retired in 1992. He enjoyed traveling on cruise ships and in his recreational vehicle, he spent his time reading, driving his Jeep in the desert, and working on his property on his tractor.
Fred was family-oriented, has touched many people will be missed dearly. He was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of Trona, brothers John Barrett of Saugus, CA and Charles Barrett of Ohio, his sisters Barbra Barrett of Arizona and Margaret Goodrich of Riverside, CA.
He is survived by his sons David Barrett of Trona, Ray Barrett of Victorville, CA, Rich Harris of Clear Lake, CA, Wendall Bryant of Oregon, Norman Bryant of Merced, CA and George Malone of Ridgecrest, CA. He is survived by his daughters Donna Barrett of Long Beach, CA, Lisa Georgeson of Long Beach, CA, Ruth Bryant of Ridgecrest, Tina Rana of Hemet, CA, Catherine King of Apple Valley, CA, Sherral Van der Werf of Nevada and Joy Rana of Oceanside, CA.
He is survived by his grandchildren Jessica, Victoria, Christopher, Francesca, Kayla, Tory, Brooks, Ethan, Evan, Eric, Heather, Mark, Zachary, Garet, Kara, Patrick, Tanya and Jolene and great-grandchildren Payton, Page, Stella, Reece, Apollo and Athena.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Rosemarie and Helen, his brothers Jim Barrett and Wade Barrett, his daughter Nancy Harris, his sons Max Rana and Kent Rana.
