Spurback; daughter of Dr. Louis S. and June (Specht) of Florida; mother of Ryan Gaines of Cheektowaga, NY and Shari (John Helms) Gaines of Niagara Falls, NY; also survived by stepson, Andrew (Teresa) Spurback of Niagara Falls, NY; five brothers, David John (Terie Painchaud) Barone of Niagara Falls, NY, Richard Louis Barone of Margate, FL, Samuel Paul (fiance;e, Donna Slater) Barone of West Seneca, NY, Christopher Paul (Patricia Panfili) Barone of Wheatfield, NY and Joel Scott Barone of Kenmore, NY; her mother-in-law, June (late Alfred) Spurback of Niagara Falls, NY; her aunts and uncles, Raymond (late Joyce) Specht of Rochester, NY and Marianne (Ronald) Harkins of Amherst, NY; godparents, Vincenetta and Harold 'Jim' McCoy; and her beloved friend, Michelle Parker, as well as several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. WHEATFIELD – LuAnn Spurback, a dental hygienist, died Friday in her Wheatfield home under the care of Niagara Hospice. She was 55.
Born in Niagara Falls, the former LuAnn Barone was a longtime resident of the Town of Niagara and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Buffalo State College and was employed as a dental hygienist at Dental Care Associates in Niagara Falls.
Mrs. Spurback enjoyed nature, wildlife and baking.
Survivors include her husband of 10 years, David G.; a son, Ryan Gaines; one daughter, Shari Gaines; one stepson, Andrew; her parents, Dr. Louis S. and June Barone; and five brothers, David J., Richard L., Samuel P., Christopher P. and Joel S. Barone.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday in M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls.
