Albert Francis Dinkel, 80, died Thursday at his daughter's home in Riverside. Born in Ellis County, Kan., Mr. Dinkel lived in Riverside 45 years.

He was a mold yard man at Kaiser Steel near Fontana for 30 years before he retired in 1989. He was also in charge of maintenance at Queen of Angels Catholic Church and school for about 10 years. He was a parishioner of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Southern California Polka Buster Club, the Stroke Club at the Janet Goeske Center in Riverside and Chuck Dursh's Stroke Club in Riverside.

Mr. Dinkel is survived by his wife, Gertrude; two daughters, Shirley Kerr of Riverside and Lori Contreras of Moreno Valley; a stepdaughter, Cruz Mueller of Oregon; two sons, Joseph of Georgia and Peter of Washington; three stepsons, Michael Contreras of Colorado, William Barclay of Arizona and Alex Contreras of Moreno Valley; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Riverside. Burial will be in Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside. Sierra Memorial Chapel Mortuary in Riverside is handling arrangements.
