Malden Killough was born in AL, to Richmond Jefferson Killough and Sarah M Roy Killough, August 23, 1832. He married Lucy Cross born in GA, February 2, 1836, daughter of William Henry and Milly Cross. Most likely they married in what was then Choctaw County, MS. They had one daughter Henrietta L Killough, born November 1854, Choctaw Co., MS and one son, Richmond born after the June 30, 1860, Huntsville, Choctaw Co., MS census. After Malden's death, Lucy married Green T. Duncan and had 6 known children, Richmond, James Collin, William Green, Avery, Georgia and John W Duncan. Lucy died in Texas, September 18, 1905.

Malden was an Ordnance Sergeant in Company K of the 24th Infantry of the Mississippi Volunteers, the Choctaw Rebels. He enlisted August 16, 1861, Greensboro, Mississippi. He died in active service, December 15, 1861.

About April 9, 1865, this regiment was consolidated with the 27th, 29th, 30th and 34th Regiments Mississippi Infantry, and formed a new regiment which was designated the 24th Regiment Mississippi Infantry.
