VI Successor of Saint John Bosco, Don Luigi Ricceri SDB., was born in Mineo and was the first Superior of the Salesians after the Second Vatican Council, leading a Special Chapter of the Order to update it to the new regulations of the Church. 6th Rector Major of the Salesians between 1965 and 1977, he oversaw the reorganization of the Salesian University of Rome. He passed away at Castellammare di Stabia.
