OA as he was known, was married to Amelia "Emma" Caza for sixty eight years. His love for "Em" never faded. He left home at the tender age of fourteen to escape his fathers third marriage. He went to work in the woods and eventually worked in the Silver Mines in Mullen Idaho.
OA was the son of Ira Courser (1827-1899) and his second wife Laura Ann Williams (1833-1882) born in Michigan. Father of ten children.
