Memorial services for Allen "Jack" Clayton, 60, of Tatum, NM will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Tatum Community Center with Pastor David Stevens, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Clayton was born on April 27, 1955 in Lovington, NM to William Edward and Polly Sue (Fleming) Clayton and passed away on November 27, 2015 at his home in Tatum. He married Yolanda Diane Morris in Tatum on November 17, 1984 and they have shared thirty one years of love, life and family together. Jack was a long-time resident of Tatum and Lea County and enjoyed Nascar, hot rods, going fishing, boating and he truly loved truck driving. He was a long-haul driver for the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense. Locally he hauled oil, production water, mud, chemicals and frac sand. At times Diane was allowed to accompany him on his loads. Jack coached and umpired little league for thirteen years and loved doing things with his boys and all other children. He loved having fun and he loved his family very much. He was a member of Tatum Lion's Club. He served in the US Army some of which was overseas in Sohweinfurt, Germany. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal' and three Presidential Citations. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Christopher Lynn Clayton and one brother, James Dean Clayton. Jack is survived by his wife, Diane of the home; two sons: David Nesdhl of Ada, OK and Billy Jack Clayton of Odessa, TX; one brother: William Edward Clayton Jr of Monahans, TX; three sisters: Donna Gardner of Wickett, TX; Diana and husband Rick Little of Dayton, Ohio and Debra and husband Craig Dunn of Midland, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
