Recipient of the MBE.
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on June 4th 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with, but not members of the order.

Erected by congregation of Dr Chalmers Territorial Church, West Port in memory of their beloved pastor Rev JAMES JOLLY who fell asleep in Jesus 10 Sept 1886 in the 41st year of his age and the 15th of his ministry;

GEORGINA ADAM d 9 Nov 1930 aged 80; also their son
JOHN JOLLY, MBE, beloved husband of Jean H Parker d 8 Nov 1948 in his 67th year;
EVELYN I JOLLY d 11 Mar 1961 aged 76;
Lieut General Sir GORDON JOLLY, KCIE d 1 Mar 1962 aged 76;
JEAN HUNTER PARKER d 11 Oct 1986 in her 96th year; beloved wife of the above John Jolly, MBE.
