Oscar Abbott, age 78, of Monticello, passed away February 4 at his home. He was born June 25, 1910 in Wayne County, the son of Leander and Clemintine Pruitt Abbott.
He is survived by seven sons, Randolph, Barton, Donnie, Leonard, Huey, Bruce and Cleatus Abbott; one daughter, Margie Crabtree; two brothers, Will and Smiley Abbott; 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held February 7 with burial in the Rogers Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
