Mrs. J. N. Perkins
Services on July 12
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 12th at the State Line Church with Rev. James Barnett and Rev. Ray Ball both of West Plains, Mo., officiating for Ritty Oliver Perkins, who was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Oliver. She was born in Knott County, Kentucky on Feb. 1, 1877. She died at her home near Moko, Ark., July 9, 1961, at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 8 days.
She was married to James Nelson Perkins in Floyd County, Ky., March 24, 1893 and to this unit eighteen children were born.
Her companion preceded her in death on October 5, 1960. Eight of her children also preceded her in death.
Survivors are three sons; Hasadore Perkins of Salem, Ark., Lloyd Perkins, of Blackwell, Okla., and John Perkins of Los Angeles, Calif., seven daughters; Mrs. Dona Burke of Haskell, Okla., Mrs. Cordelia Shirley of Bixby, Okla., Mrs. Margie White of Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. Edna Moddox of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Mary Oliver of Delhi, La., Mrs. Delia McCormick of Manila, Ark., and Mrs. Grace Holloway of Lanton, Mo. Fifty nine grandchildren, a large number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and may friends.
Mrs. Perkins had been a member of Pentecost Church since she was a young girl.
Interment was in the Sate Line Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Service of Salem.
Pallbearers were Junior Reavis, C. B. Maguffee, Homer Pollard, Jewell Skaggs, Bill Sills, and Walter Spores.
