Dorothy L. Sheep, 87, of Berwick, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Berwick Retirement Village I, where she was a resident. She was born March 3, 1928, in Berwick, a daughter to the late Charles Frank and Gertrude Alverta (Whitmire) Lutz.
Dorothy worked for years at the former Consolidated Cigar Company in Berwick. Her family, especially her grandchildren, meant most to her. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, cooking and baking. Most notably, she baked more than 200 cookies that were sent to our troops during the Gulf War in 1990, by way of Operation Cookie. Dot was a loving and selfless woman who devoted much of her time to helping others.
Surviving Dot are her children and spouses: son, Donald H. Sheep Jr. (Steven Lindenmuth), Bloomsburg; daughters: Denise Watts (Richard), Berwick; and Deborah Steward, Allentown. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Mandy and Christopher Schell, and great-grandson Jaeden DeLarge, all of Berwick.
Dorothy’s funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. Third St., Berwick. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of the service. Pastor John Hill of the Berwick Christian Church will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
