Priscilla Coffin Place was born on May 31, 1801 in North Carolina, USA. She died on August 26, 1856 in Indiana, USA. She is the daughter of of Levi Coffin, Sr. and Prudence Williams. Priscilla Coffin is the sister of famous Quaker leader of the Underground, Levi Coffin, Jr. She married William Place. They had one daughter, Naomi Place Davis.

Please note: Priscilla Coffin Place is my great-grandmother (eight generations back). I searched several Quaker genealogy records along with the Earlham College library, and I am certain of all of the material above, except the exact cemetery location (very likely it is here at New Garden, close to where she lived).

A member of the Coffin family had a reunion in around 1998. The church pastor and others noted that the older Coffins Levi Sr. and Prudence were buried here, however, there was a terrible flood on the creek running behind it and many graves and stones are now washed away. Many Quakers were also buried in unmarked graves.
