Russell farmed and worked at Lake to Lake until his retirement. He married Charlotte "Lottie" Rezek on November 21, 1941, and she preceded him in death on April 3, 2001. He liked to play Sheepshead and raise flowers in his garden.
Survivors include four sons: Russell (Judith) Kittell, Cooperstown; Roger (Carol) Kittell, Cooperstown, Merlin Kittell, Cooperstown, and John (Vicki) Kittell, Maribel; 11 grandchilden; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; sister-in-law, Muriel Kittell, Denmark; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Emil and Irene Knustman, Two Rivers; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martin and Betty Wotruba, Maribel; and sister-in-law, Verna Rezek, Mishicot.
In addition to his parents and wife, Russell was preceded in death by his brothers: Melvin, Carlton, and Roland; and one sister, Evelyn.
Friends may call Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., at Melnik Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
