Notes from Melnik
Mr. August Pfefferkorn, one of the first settlers of this county, died at his home here Thursday, May 27, after a long illness, aged 71 years. Death was due indirectly to rheumatism. He is survived by his wife and thirteen children, all of whom are in good standing.
Mr. Pfefferkorn was born in Germany and came to this country when a boy with his parents. They made their home here where the deceased had resided ever since. The funeral was held Monday, May 31, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon from the late home. Interment was at the Melnik Presbyterian cemetery. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family.
