Mrs. Henry Bellew (Willie Etta Battles) of Oneonta, route 4, died January 13th at Oneonta Manor after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Arch and Ellen Fulenwider Battles. She was formerly married to Willie Tolbert, and after his death married Henry Bellew, who is now deceased. She is survived by two sons, Rev. U. M. Tolbert and Earsie Tolbert, of Oneonta route 4; three step-sons, J. B. Bellew and Curtis Bellew of Birmingham, and Howard Bellew of Florida; two step-daughters, Nell Harvey of Oneonta, and Jessie Ruth Vick, of Oneonta, route 4; one brother, R. B. Battles of Oneonta, route 2, one sister, Mrs. C. E. McCullough, of Oneonta; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren. Rev. L. J. Walker and Rev. Ira Tidwell conducted last rites from Antioch Methodist Church January 14, with burial in adjoining cemetery. King in charge.

Willie Etta married William Henry Bellew on 19 Aug 1930 in Blount County, Alabama. As a step-grandmother, she was affectionally known to us as "Miss Willie".
