The son of Edward L. Taylor and Martha Ryan Taylor, he was born near Chillicothe on January 17, 1886. He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and of the Kansas City School of Law, where he graduated as valedictorian of his class. He practiced law for many years with James A. Reed, former United States senator.
He married Estelle Trapp on June 10, 1906, in Leavenworth, Kansas. She survives him. He is also survived by a brother, John H. Taylor, an attorney still practicing in Chillicothe; four nephews who are attorneys, John E. Taylor of Jefferson City, James E. Woolsey of Kansas City, Joseph F. Woolsey of Bartlesville, Okla., and Richard B. Taylor in Chillicothe. Surviving also are another nephew, Edward L. Woolsey of Bremer, Missouri and a niece, Miss Dorothy Taylor of Chillicothe.
Funeral services were held June 1, 1936 at the Elm Street Church conducted by Rev. G. Clifton Ervin. Burial was made in Edgewood Cemetery.
