Katherine R. Bonin

Mrs. Katherine R. Bonin, 100, a lifelong resident of the Town of Newton (Manitowoc County), died Tuesday at the Northridge Care Center in Manitowoc.

She was born April 23, 1885, in Newton, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Glomski Fruzyna.

On Nov. 10, 1909, she married Frank Bonin at St. Cashimir Catholic Church. He preceded her in death Sept. 7, 1936.

The couple was engaged in farming in the Town of Newton since their marriage.

Mrs. Bonin was a charter member of the Holy Rosary Society of St. Cashimir Parish.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph and Edwin, Manitowoc; four daughters, Mrs. Alice Kornely and Mrs. Helen Kortas, both of Manitowoc, Mrs. Elroy (Florence) Rodewald, Newton and Mrs. Hilary (Evelyn) Mayer, Sheboygan Falls; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Barbara Sepnesky, Manitowoc.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two brothers, five sisters and an infant granddaughter.

The funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc, with the Rev. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M., pastor of the church, as celebrant. The Mass will follow family rites at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, at 9 a.m.

Burial will be in the St. Cashimir Church Cemetery in Northeim.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday. A prayer service will be held there at 7 p.m.
