"'Boss' Huffman, a special officer of the Frisco Railroad, was instantly killed Tuesday night about 11 o'clock, when he was run down by a switch engine which was backing cars westward.
No one witnessed the accident, but it is supposed that Huffman started across the tracks just as the cars approached when his foot caught in the rails at the crossing of the Frisco and Midland Valley tracks where the accident occurred.
Several cars and the engine passed over his body which was terribly mutilated. The remains were taken to Mowbray's."
