Ellen Elder Panos, 64 of Plano TX, passed away July 11, 2006 at her home. She was born March 10, 1942 to Robert and Almetta Elder in Yellow Jacket CO. She grew-up in Dove Creek, graduated from Dolores County High School in 1960 and attended Fort Lewis College in Durango for two years. She married Pete Panos on May 25, 1962 in Dove Creek. After living in several locations in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, she and Pete settled in Dallas TX and then in Plano in 1972.
Ellen was always involved with her children's activities. She was eager to volunteer at their school, helping out where ever she could. When her children were in school, she was a Boy Scout Leader, a Girl Scout Leader, socker coach and band booster. She was also an election judge in Collin County TX for many years. Later, after the kids were grown, she worked at H&R Block and Target. In her later years Ellen enjoyed spending time at the Plano Senior Center where she made many friends and loved playing 42. She also enjoyed visiting her children and her mother as much as possible.
Ellen made friends where ever she went and could strike up a conversation with anybody. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pete in 1999, her father Robert in 1972, a baby brother, Robert in 1940 and another brother, Clifford in 1972..
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, son, mother and step-father; brother and sister-in-law, brother and sister-in-law, brothers-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
