Joseph Arthur Aubry, age 84 of DePere, WI, formerly of Oconto, WI died March 1, 2005 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born to the late Wilfred Joseph and Alvina (Charon) Aubry July 5, 1920 in the Town of Lake.

He married the former Dolores Detaege May 8, 1948 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Oconto.

Joseph served in the United States Marine Corps. from 1942-1946, serving in the South Pacific where he received the Good Conduct Medal. He retired from Oconto Electric Cooperative (REA) in 1982. Joseph was a very active member of the American Legion Jones-Modrow-Young Post 74 of Oconto, where he was Commander, Adjutant and Service Officer and earned an award for being "Top New Recruiter" for two consecutive years. He also served on the Oconto County Council as Adjutant and Finance Officer; and was currently Ninth District Service Officer. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church of DePere, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, usher and a greeter.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years Dolores; three daughters: Charon (Dave) Younger of Green Bay, WI; Diane Aubry of DePere, WI and Patricia (Dan) Wallace of Green Bay, WI; two sons: Jeffrey (Kathleen) Aubry of DePere, WI and Michael (Kathy) Aubry of Green Bay, WI; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and one sister Agnes Fuller of Waukesha, WI.

He was preceded in death by a brother Clinton Aubry.

Friends called at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home of Oconto on March 4, 2005 from 4 to 8 pm. Visitation continued Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church of DePere. Full Military Honors given by the American Legion at Oconto Catholic Cemetery, at the site of his burial.
