It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Genevieve "Veva" Robles Aceves. Genevieve, 88, was called home to our Lord in Heaven on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015.

Genevieve was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on April 8, 1926, to Refugio and Isabel Padilla Robles. She enjoyed going to church, shopping and visiting family and friends. She was a joyful person and lived life to the fullest. She loved to laugh and joke around and was always ready to help anyone in whatever way she could. We will miss her and her sense of humor, but will always have many great memories to remember her by and will always keep her close to our hearts.

Genevieve is survived by her husband, Guillermo M. Aceves. She is also survived by four daughters and their spouses, Rebecca C. Castillo (Alex), Mary Helen Trejo (Joe), Rachel Ochoa (Jackie), Lupe Aceves Gonzalez (Ruben); two sons, Jose F. Rigales and Benjamin Aceves; one sister, Eliza Robles; and one brother, Jose D. Robles. Genevieve, known as "Mother" or "Grandma V" to her grandchildren, is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, and a very large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Willie (Billy) and Michael Aceves; two brothers, Daniel and Pablo Robles; one sister, Esperanza Robles Padilla; and one grandson, Xavier Juarez Rigales.

Serving as pallbearers are Benjamin R. Aceves, Johnny Castillo Jr., Jose Cirilo Trejo III, Christopher Ochoa, JD Valenzuela, Jose F. Rigales Jr., Sarahlee Aceves, and Nicole Aceves. Serving as honorary pallbearers are her sons-in-law, whom she loved very much and who loved and respected her as well. Also serving as honorary pallbearers are all grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren that were her pride and joy, and brought her much happiness.

Genevieve was a breast cancer survivor since 1984 and pink was her most prized color. Friends and family who wish to wear pink in Genevieve's and all other cancer survivors' honor are encouraged to do so. A visitation is scheduled at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Getz Funeral Home, followed by a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, with interment to follow immediately afterward at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
