Jay Daniel Meyer, 20, of Valders, died Sunday morning, June 12, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Oz Twedt and the Rev. Carl Peters will officiate and burial will be in Valders West Cemetery.
Mr. Meyer was born June 18, 1962, at Manitowoc, son of Daniel and June Evenson Meyer. He was a 1980 graduate of Valders High School, a 1981 graduate of Northeastern Wisconsin Technical Institute in the diesel equipment mechanic program, and a 1982 graduate of Superior Training School, Indiana, as a heavy equipment operator. He was employed by Commercial Trucking of Manitowoc, and Meyers Inc., of Valders. Mrs. Meyer was a member of Valders Fire Department, Classic Chevy Club and was a certified scuba diver.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Meyer; a sister, Tammy at home; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Myrna Evenson of rural Valders; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Viola Meyer of Valders, a special friend, Dan Esser, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
