LAWRENCE R. AHRENS

Lawrence R. Ahens, age 82, of rural Valders, passed away Saturday morning, February 26, 1994, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by a son, Louis, in 1987; a son-in-law, Arnold Behnke, a daughter-in-law, Rose Ahrens, two sisters, Ruth and Meta Wesener, four brothers, Harold and Milton and two infant brothers.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 1, 1994, at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, Rev. Carl Peters and Rev. William Timm and will officiate with burial to follow at Valders West Cemetery.

He was born June 10, 1911, at Hilbert, son of the late Louis and Pauline Raddatz Ahrens. He farmed in the town of Liberty and was also employed at the Kohler Co., and cut lawn for the Associated Bank, Valders and Faith Lutheran Church for many years. He married Ana Powell on June 26, 1937, at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Rantoul.

He is survived by his wife Anna; five sons and two daughters-in-law, Myron, Kiel, Keith and Betty, Valders, James and Sally, St. Nazianz, Steven and Jeffrey at home; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Loretta Behnke, Green Bay, Donna and Clemens Mayer, New Holstein, Gloria and Gerald Heinzen, Manitowoc, Sue and James Bellin, Wauwatosa; one brother and sister-in-law, Wilmer and Rose Ahrens, Reedsville; a sister-in-law, Elsie Wesener, Chilton; 34 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church from 6-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
