Anna C. Ahrens, age 79, of rural Valders, died Thursday evening, May 30, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, 1996, at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Rev. William Timm and Rev. Charles Kurtz will officiate with burial to follow at Valders West Cemetery.
She was born March 10, 1917, at Stockbridge, daughter of the late Myron and Mary Robinson Powell. She attended Calumet County Schools, farmed with her husband in the town of Liberty and did maintenance work for various area businesses. She married Lawrence Ahrens June 26, 1937, in the town of Rantoul.
Survivors include four sons and one daughter-in-law, Myron of St Nazianz, James and Sally of St. Nazianz, Steven and Jeffrey at home; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Loretta Behnke, Oconto, Donna and Clem Mayer, New Holstein, Gloria and Jerry Heinzen, Manitowoc, Susan and James Belin, Wauwatosa; four brothers, Robert and Doris Powell, Menominee Falls, Martin and Lorraine Powell, Waukesha, Herbert and Marie Powell, Kaukauna, Eugene and Muriel Powell, Kaukauna; one sister, Agnes Martzahl, Black Creek; two daughters-in-law, June Ahrens, Texas, Betty Ahrens, Valders; two brothers-in-law, Wilmer (Rose) Ahrens, Reedsville, Leroy Balza, Kaukauna; one sister-in-law, Viola Powell, Green Bay. She is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchidren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Louis and Keith, two brothers, two sisters, one daughter-in-law, Rose Ahrens, and a son-in-law, Arnold Behnke.
Friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
