Joey Morrissey, 45, of Champaign died at 2:30 p.m. Friday (Jan. 1, 2016) at OSF Medical Center, Peoria.
He was the son of Leland Morrissey and the late Judith Howard and Mike Howard.
He is survived by his stepfather, Mike Howard; two children, Courtney Morrissey and Kody Morrissey; four brothers, Terry Morrissey, Tim (Anne) Morrissey, Jerry Morrissey and Mike (Maggie) Morrissey; one sister, Kristina (Jason) Brown and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Kyle Morrissey.
He also had a special person in his life for the past four years, Stephanie Haines.
Joey owned his own painting business for several years. He was a hard worker at any job he ever did. He never knew a stranger. He would help anyone in any way he could. He loved his family and friends very much. Joey had suffered greatly with diabetes over the past 20 years. He will be sadly missed by everyone.
