Aileen Byrd Phillips Anderson, 95 of Jesup, Ga. died Monday, January 4, 2016 in the Golden Living Center and under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
The Covena, Ga. native was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a former retail sales clerk. Caretaker is the word that best describes her as she would cook, sew and just give back to others. She also enjoyed studying the Word of God that reaffirmed her need to “take others under her wing”.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Raymond Byrd, the father of her children and Thurman Clyde Anderson; her son, David P. Byrd and great grandson, Mathew Keller.
Survivors are her daughters, Edna Ruth (Spec)Williamson of Jesup, Ga., Barbara (Steve) Solomon; sons, Tommie and Jimmy Anderson; daughter-in-law, Gerry Simpkins, all of Fla.; several grandchildren, Wesley Williamson of Jesup, Ga., John(Angie) Williamson of Brunswick, Ga., Pattie (Jessie) James, Janet (Billy) Simpkins, Jennifer (Dave) Michon, Lisa Wallack, James (Tricia) Anderson, Michael (Renee) Anderson, Marc Solomon, Sara (Marc) Sgarlata, all of Fla., Jason Solomon of Japan; great grandchildren, Jacob and Victoria Williamson of Brunswick, Ga., Megan, Katie, Rosalie, Makayla, Tyler, Blake, Savannah, Alexis and Anthony of Fla.; a great-great grandson, Joshua Keller of Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Friday, January 8, 2016 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Danny Daniels and Rev. Stanley Todd officiating. Interment will be in the Jesup City Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Wes and John Williamson, Michael and Jimbo Anderson, Billy Simpkins and Marc Solomon.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 A.M. prior to services at the funeral home.
