Sarah Jane (called Jenny by her father) married her cousin C. F. Blythe (Fritz) in Washington County Texas 4 Jan 1871. To that union were born children Mary Ethel, Joe, Jessie, Emma, Maggie, and Maude.
By 1900, Sarah Jane was divorced from Blythe, living with daughters Mary Ethel Cook, Jessie and Maude in Comanche Texas where she was working in a boarding house. It was believed that she traveled to New Mexico with daughter Jessie and took care of her grandchildren after Mary Ethel's sudden death.
Although there are no known records of Sarah Jane after the 1910 census when she was living with Jessie and her husband in Throckmorton, Texas, a death record was found of a "Mrs. Blythe" in Charlotte, Atacosta County, which was likely Sarah Jane. Her daughter Maude was living nearby at that time. Mrs. Blythe was likely buried in a potters grave.
