A news item about R. P. Harrison written shortly before his death.

INFORMS US THAT HE IS STILL WITH THE LIVING
Some time ago the News published a list of those contributing to the erection of the old Blanco High School. The compiler of the list mistakenly reported R.P. Harrison as one of the deceased. A letter recently received by Miss May Morgan has to say that the writer is in receipt of a copy of the paper, and notes his name among those passed on. "I am happy to say I am still alive, thank the Lord. It is sad to find so many of the good men have gone home. I subscribed $25 to the school and was employed as a stone mason till the stone work was done and I still have the square and spirit level yet, while I have used it but little."

Mr. Harrison is now past 75 and has been retired for 6 years. He was here about 6 years ago and met Jack Cage, Joe Speer, Miss Mollie Carson and others. His wife died about 9 years ago, and his only son last December. He has an adopted daughter now 16 years of age. His address is 1702 Hanover Ave., Richmond, Va. He sends regards to old friends and a small photograph, which we regret our inability to reproduce.

R. P. Harrison
Past friends will regret to learn that Robert P. Harrison of Richmond, Virginia, died in a hospital there on April 24th, following a twelve day illness. His niece, Mrs. Jessie Stegall, received the news through a letter from his landlady. He will be remembered well here by the older Blanco residents. Had he lived until July 7th he would have been seventy-five years old.
