Funeral services were held at Aliquippa, on May 14, at the St. Titus Catholic Church, followed by a Christian Mass burial at Aliquippa. Interment was made at the Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Aliquippa.
He was born June 20, 1913, at Petersburg, the son of the late Harry and Lilly Mae (Peightal) Benton. His wife, Josephine (Cellini) Benton, survives.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Virginia) Fortunato, Aliquippa, and two sons, Philip A. Palermo, San Diego, Calif., and Joseph R. Palermo, Sewickley. Also surviving are one brother, Don Benton, Mount Union, and one sister, Peg Hodgin, Beaver. There is also one granddaughter.
Mr. Benton was a retired foreman with the J. & L. Steel Corporation, Aliquippa Works. He was a member of the Aliquippa B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1221.
