FUNERAL OF
MR. HELLHAKE
___

REMAINS OF ESTEEMED
RESIDENT LAID AWAY
AT ST. BONIFACE CEMETERY.
___

The funeral of the late John Hellhake, who passed away at his residence, 925 Hampshire street, Sunday evening, at 9:15 o'clock, took place Wednesday morning. All the children were present at the services, John Hellhake arriving just a few hours before the funeral, coming from New York, while Fred of Cincinnati, O., and Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hellhake of Chicago arrived earlier.

The funeral was held at 8:30 o'clock from the family residence, 925 Hampshire street, with services at St. Boniface Catholic church, of which congregation the deceased had been a valued member for many years, at 9 o'clock. Rev. Father Kunsch was the celebrant of the mass. Interment was at St. Boniface cemetery, where Rev. Father Degenhardt officiated at the burial.

Many beautiful floral designs covered the casket, giving mute evidence of the high esteem in which Mr. Hellhake was held by a host of friends and acquaintances, who, through these means, expressed their profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

The pall-bearers were all life-long friends of the deceased. Mr. Hellhake lacked but nine days of completing the biblical span of three score and ten years, yet six men who had been his school and playmates in the old Fatherland, in Allendorf, Westphalen, Germany, were able to do him the last honor and carry his body to its last resting place. The men who acted as pall-bearers were: John Coens, Henry Freiburg, Casper Freiburg, Fred Lutzius, Henry J. Freiburg and Fred Freiburg.

The attendance was large, as Mr. Hellhake had many friends who had learned to know and esteem him through the forty-five years of his residence in this city.
