Martha “Marty” Brown, 82, of Hot Springs passed with peace and grace on January 7, 2016.

She was born on March 26, 1933 in Hot Springs to the late John “Rip” and Etta Collins.

Marty was a member of First Christian Church where she also served as an Elder and sang in the choir. She graduated from Hot Springs High School and continued to be active well after graduation by helping to plan numerous high school reunions. She spent over 30 years as a homeroom mom and PTA member.

A master with needlework; she enjoyed sewing, needlepoint and especially knitting prayer shawls. Marty could recreate a piece of clothing just by looking at it.

Marty retired from Mid-South Engineering. She loved to travel and play bridge. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and loved it immensely!

Waiting for her in heaven are her husband, James “J.O.” Brown and brother, Virgil C. Collins.

Her loving survivors include daughters, Shelly Clifft (Dennis), Christi Oliver (John) and Julie Allard; grandchildren, Matt Clifft (Erin), James Oliver (Reagan), Anna Claire Oliver, Michael Allard and Grace Allard; sister, Alice Brawner and a host of special friends and extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brookfield Assisted Living and Arkansas Hospice for their care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. at First Christian Church with Pastor Don Naftz officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
