MRS. BESSIE RICE
SALISBURY - Mrs. Bessie Morrison Rice, 71, of 500 Mitchell Ave. died Saturday at Rowan Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Milford Hills United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Rowan Memorial Park.
Born in Iredell County she was a graduate of Woodleaf High School, Brevard College, and Salisbury Beauty College, where she received a Teacher of Cosmetology degree. She was the owner and operator of Salisbury Beauty College for eight years until her retirement in 1975. She was a former member of Woodleaf United Methodist Church for many years and worked with the church's young people.
Surviving are husband, William M. Rice; son, M. Allen Rice of Salisbury; two grandchildren.
The family will be Summersett Funeral Home 7-8:30 p.m. today.
