"Mrs. L.E. Lyerly Taken by Death"
Mrs. Evelyn Morrison Lyerly, wife of Mr. L.E. Lyerly died Friday morning at 5:15 o'clock at the Davis Hospital.
She was born August 31, 1911, near Woodleaf in Rowan county, and was the daughter of Rev. C.A. Morrison and Eugeneia (Allen) Morrison.
Survivors are: her husband, Mr. L.E. Lyerly; a son, Charles Edward Lyerly; her parents, Rev. and Mrs. C.A. Morrison of Newton; a brother, Mr. T.D. Morrison of Atlanta, Ga.; and three sisters, Miss Gertrude Morrison, Statesville; Miss Alma Morrison, Charlotte; and Mrs. W. Melvin Rice of Woodleaf.
A baby son born dead, was buried Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at South River Methodist church in Rowan county.
Mrs. Lyerly was a member of the South River Methodist church and regular attendant there. Her funeral services were held at South River church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. G.W. Williams, assisted by Rev. H.M. Wellman. Interment was in the church cemetery.
