Whittier - Robin Barnes Setzer, 36, of the Conleys Creek community, slipped away to be with the Lord Thursday, April 13, 2006, surrounded by her family and friends. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of Betty Jones Barnes of Bryson City and the late Nelson Barnes, who died in October 2005.

She was a graduate of Swain County High School and graduated with a B.A. in accounting at Western Carolina University. She was employed with Southwestern Community College in the Grants department as an accountant. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend and loved singing with her family, the Barnes family.

In addition to her mother she is survived by two sons, Trevor and Brenton Setzer of the home; two sisters, Rhonda Loftis and her husband, Vincent and Rita Fisher and husband, Jamie, all of Bryson City; two brothers, Ricky Barnes and wife, Bernice, of Sylva and Rodney Barnes and wife, Kim, of Whittier; maternal grandmother, Bertie Jones Combs and husband, Paw Huey, of Bryson City; nieces, Brittney Robinson and April Fisher; nephews, Daniel Fisher, Dustin Loftis, Eric Barnes and Nickolas, Landon and Conner Barnes; great nephew, Paitten Robinson; several aunts, uncles and many special friends

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Whittier Church of God, of which she was a member. The Revs. Ned Pressley, Frankie Rogers, Eddie Stillwell and Marty Pressley will be officiating.

Burial will be in Mason Branch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at Whittier Church of God.
