Died Friday, Aug. 4, 1989, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 72, a native of Slaughter and resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Scott's Bluff Morticians, 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Religious services at Greater King David Baptist Church at 8 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. John H. Montgomery. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by wife, Rodessa Jackson Banks; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Banks Williams, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Gladys Banks Carter, Columbia, S.C.; a son, Charlie Banks, Baton Rouge; a son-in-law, Preston C. Carter Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Estella Square Banks; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Mary and Henry Banks; six brothers; and a son-in-law. He was a member of Greater King David Baptist Church for more than 40 years, Deacon Board, Brotherhood and Sunday School.
