Wilhelm Harder, 83, of Hollywood, formerly of Germany died on Jan. 25, 1998 at St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown.

He was born on Sept 14, 1914 in Rosengart, Russia.

He was the husband of Anganeta Klassen Harder of Hollywood, whom he married on Dec. 18, 1938 in Rosengart. He was the father of Angie Suarez of Annandale, Va., and the late John Harder.

He was the uncle of Peter Rempel, John Rempel and Willy Rempel all of Germany.

He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Harder moved to St. Mary's County in 1950 and became a plant manager at the Leonardtown Dairy. He retired in 1973 after 23 years.

Prayers were said on Jan. 27 at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown. Services will be held today, Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 10a.m. at Hollywood Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Sparks as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Dean, Randy Johnson, Richard Menard, Jeff Yount, Jerry Thompson, and Steve Hoopengardner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Latelle Thompson, Alfred Kessler, Donald Ervin, Danny Sweeney, Tim Thompson, Rodney Thompson, Steve Kessler, and Michael Fischer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad.
