Thomas Faith, Jr. was born 1765, Frederick County, Maryland to Thomas and Ruth York Faith. He was about 9 years old when he walked with his parents and three other brothers to what is now Somerset County, Pennsylvania where they established the family plantation "Faith and Hope". After the death of his father Thomas, Sr. in 1779 Thomas, Jr. came into Orphans Court (Docket No.2, page 5):
"Orphans Court Bedford 20 April 1782. Before me Abraham Cable, David Jones, Gideon Ritchie, Esquires. Thomas Faith a minor son of Thomas Faith deceased above the age of fourteen years came into Court and chose Samuel Wright of
Milford Township to be guardian over his person and Estate who was accordingly accepted of by the said Court. John Faith another minor came into Court being above the age of fouteen years and chose Philip Cable to be guardian over his
person and estate."

Bedford County, PA Militia Rolls os Feb 1789 (P.A. 6-3-41) lists Thomas Faith, (Jr.) along with older brother Abraham, as residence of Milford
Township.

The First Federal Census (1790) of Bedford County, PA is not divided by Townships, but shows Thomas Faith, (Jr), and his older brother Abraham listed as Heads of Houshold with families. In each family is an unidinified
male over 16 years old which were probably their younger brothers, Jacob and Henry. John was probably already in Kentucky by this time.

When the Family Estate "Faith and Hope" was sold 11 June 1796, Deed Book one, page 172. Thomas (Jr.) and older brother Abraham are show as residence of Somerset County and heirs at law of Thomas Faith, deceased. (details on Thomas Faith, Sr., notes)

Thomas Faith, Jr. was living in Harrison County, Indiana by 1820 where he is shown "Thomas Faith, Esquire age 45 & up, Wife 45 & up, There were two females and two males. Also on the Census is his brother Henry Faith age 27 to 44
with family.

THOMAS and MARGARET FAITH Son of THOMAS and RUTH FAITH In the year of 1816 , in Montgomery County Indiana a Ransom Faith was born . He was listed on the estate papers of Thomas Faith as a grandson. Exactly whose child he was has never been established. Wheather he was the son of Elizabeth Faith and Ransom Norton before their marriage or not is unknown. Thomas was a local political leader. He served as a subscribers judge in a recount vote for coroner and sheriff in October 1787. He moved his family to Harrison County Indiana next to his brother, Henry. He continued to serve in Political activities and was listed as justice of the peace for Heth Township, Harrison County and officiated at his first Marriage ceremony on August 28, 1817, and he continued as such until the year 1826.
