Ruth York Faith moved to Breckenridge County, Kentucky in 1776 after the sale of
Faith and Hope on 11 June 1796 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
Her will is dated 3 September 1799 and was the first Will to be Probated in Breckenridge County, Kentucky, 20 October 1800, Recorded Book one, Page one:
"In the name of God amen I Ruth Faith being in a weak state of health but in
perfect mind and memory do ordain this to be my las will and testament my soul
commend to Almighty God who gave it my body to be committed to the earth to be
decently buried at the discretion of my Executor. My worldly estate which God
has pleased to bless me with I give and bequeath in the form and manner folling
Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved son John Faith eight pounds whic his
is owing me livise five and three quarter pounds of flax likewise one striped
common petticoat and peper mill Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved son
Henry Faith my bed and bedding also my chest and all that is in it likewise
five petticoats also two pots one duch oven and frying pan I also appoint my
son Henry Faith to be the Executor of this my last Will and testament. In
testimony of which I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of
November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine."
