Audrey S. Baker, age 88, of Jenkins, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday June 13, 2012, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital, Whitesburg, Kentucky. She was born on July 30, 1923, at Blackey, Kentucky, and lived nearly all of her life in Letcher County, Kentucky. She was a mother and a homemaker, and had worked for over fifty years at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital. She enjoyed traveling and attending bluegrass festivals. Mrs. Baker was of the Baptist faith.
She was a daughter of the late John & Ellen Morgan Sizemore, and was preceded in death last July by her husband, Kenneth Baker. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, John Michael Baker; and a sister, Leatrice Griffin.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Baker, Jr. & wife Holly, of Grove City, Ohio, and Johnny Lee Baker & wife Debbie, of Jenkins, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Allisa Feazel, Kenny Bill Baker, Jesse Baker, Brian Baker, and Rachel Bartlett; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Candus Boggs, Dandridge, Tennessee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation Saturday June 16, 2012, from 6-8 pm at Polly & Craft Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday June 17, 2012, at 1:30 pm, with Rev. Russell Hall, officiating. Interment will follow at the Jenkins-Payne Gap Cemetery.
