Jakob served in the First World War with the 1 bayerische Infanterie-Regiment(München), I.Ersatz-Bataillon as a chauffeur for German war generals.
After the war he married Klara Mayr (1892-1965) in 1921. They moved to a house in the village of Viehbach (between Freising and Dachau) in the early-1920s. They had 8 children. Jakob was a taxi driver and later founded a lemonade business in his house.
Jakob died on November 17, 1968 and is buried at the village cemetery in Viehbach.
