Robert Zimmermann, age 87, a Manitowoc resident, passed away, Friday evening, February 5, 2016 at Care Partners of Manitowoc.

Bob was born May 31, 1928 in School Hill, WI, son of the late Carl and Marie (Henning) Zimmermann. He grew up as a farm boy and was a graduate of Kiel High School with the class of 1947. On October 6, 1951 he married the former Ruth Wolfgram in Manitowoc, WI.

Bob was employed at Mirro Aluminum as a Supervisor and Foreman for 38 years. He was a passionate sports fan and outdoors man. Bob was an avid deer hunter and fisherman for over 60 years, and loved the Green Bay Packers, for whom he had season tickets for 30+ years. He enjoyed frequent summer camping trips to Chute Pond with family and friends and traveled extensively with his family, visiting nearly all 50 states. He also enjoyed attending races at Talladega and Daytona Speedways, as well as others across the country. Most of all, he was an extremely loving and devoted husband and family man who took great pride in his family and was always willing to do whatever was necessary to help and support them.

Survivors include his wife: Ruth Zimmermann, Manitowoc; four grandsons: Russel (Jenny) Zimmermann, Suamico, Benjamin Miller, Madison, Christopher Miller, Manitowoc, Nicholas Miller, Two Rivers; one great granddaughter: Calli Zimmermann; his best buddy and feline friend: Tonka; one brother and sister-in-law: Dale and Nancy Zimmermann, Kiel; two sisters-in-law: Rita Prausa, Oconto, Betty Zimmermann, Sheboygan; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Oscar and Judy Wolfgram, Menasha; one son-in-law: Craig Miller. Nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and neighbors also survive. He was also preceded in death by one son: Steven Zimmermann; one daughter: Michelle Miller; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Carl Zimmermann, Danny and Florence Zimmermann; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Gladys and Tony Hoerth, Margaret and Arnold Pautz, Rogene and Clarence Faust; one brother-in-law: Roland Prausa; his mother and father, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Oscar and Erma Wolfgram.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
